Dawson Schilz Ms. Lehmann English 2-1B 9 October 2019 My Lagoon Experience As we were waiting for the bus to arrive, I was talking with my fellow band members about how nervous and excited we were. “Hey, Jordan. Are you going to be too scared to go on the Cannibal at Lagoon,” I teased. I could tell that she had mixed feelings about going to Lagoon. She was shivering with excitement and nerves about being pressured to go on Cannibal, which is supposedly the scariest ride of all the rides at Lagoon. “No, not at all,” she replied. Even though she said no, I could tell that she was bluffing. Finally, the bus pulled up to the curb, and we all hopped on. As soon as I got on the bus, I went and found a good seat before anyone else could steal it. I picked a seat right in front of one of the mini TVs installed in the bus. Eventually, the bus started pulling out of the school parking lot and our band teacher, Mr. Eiler, put in Pirates of the Caribbean. It seemed really boring even though I had never watched it before. I eventually fell asleep. Someone woke me up, and when I sat up and looked around, I could tell that we were at Lagoon. There was a big colorful sign that said Lagoon in bold letters. Mr. Eiler stood up in the front of the bus to get everybody’s attention. He started speaking. “When we get off the bus, I would like you guys to stick next to me and then we will all walk up to the gate together” When we walked up to the gate, the person who was working asked Mr. Eiler how many people we had, Mr. Eiler responded. “There are 45 of us including me”. While he was paying, I looked around in amazement at how big the rides were. You could tell which one Cannibal was because it was tall and red. I walked up to Cannibal and that was the first ride that I went on. “I havenever been on a roller coaster before,” I told Jessy and Jordan. We finally convinced Jordan to go on Cannibal. After Cannibal, we went on plenty more rides including Colossus: The Fire Dragon, Rocket, Wicked, Roller Coaster, and more. The roller coaster is made completely out of wood. As I walked up to the entrance line, I noticed that there was a huge line that went all the way back to the end of the ramp. After fifteen minutes of patiently waiting, the I finally got to the front of the line. Next, I went on The Bat. The Bat was short and sweet. When I was getting into my seat on the ride, I noticed that my feet were dangling from the ride because I was basically sitting in a car seat that. I wished that The Bat wouldn’t have been such a short ride. When we were done, gathered and left. “That was fun,” said Jordan as we hopped on the bus andLagoon was a pretty fun experience, and now I can say that I have ridden Cannibal and a whole bunch of other scary roller coasters. I learned that I can overcome my fear of doing crazy and scary things.
