The line stretched all the way around the big-top tent and halfway down the block. I stood at the very end with a ticket in my hand and listened to the sounds of the circus music mixing with the excited buzz of the people around me. The air was thick with the smell of cotton candy and buttered popcorn. I could hardly wait to be inside! Suddenly, the crowd quieted. The ringmaster had appeared and was working his way through the jumble of people, searching for someone. He caught my eye and waved hello, walked up to me, took off his top hat, and bent down to whisper in my ear. "If you please," he said, "we need your assistance right away." He took my hand, And then I followed him to the circus tent and then he held open the tent flap for me to walk in. After I walked in there was chaos in the tent. The elephants were going crazy. The ringmaster asked me if I could help him stop the chaos. I clapped my hands five times really hard and fast. All of a sudden the chaos seized. The ringmaster looked at me in awe of what I did. He thanked me for all I did and then he pulled out a huge wad of cash and he handed it to me. I stared in amazement at him. After a couple of minutes I finally took the cash from him and then I left with a good feeling. To this day that expeirience was one of the most memorable events in my life.
